llms.txt generator
Scan your website to see whether it already has an llms.txt file and what AI agents can read. Then create a free account to generate an llms.txt built from your real pages — plus agents.md, agent.json and structured data.
We check 10 signals, including whether robots.txt blocks GPTBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot. See the methodology.
What is llms.txt?
llms.txt is a Markdown file at the root of your domain that tells language models what your site is and which pages matter most. It starts with your site name, a one-line summary, then short lists of key links grouped by section.
How the generator works
- We crawl your homepage, sitemap and key pages.
- We draft llms.txt only from pages we actually found — no invented links.
- You review, edit and download it, then upload it to your site root.

llms.txt questions
What is llms.txt?
llms.txt is a plain Markdown file served at the root of a website (yourdomain.com/llms.txt). It gives large language models and AI agents a short, curated summary of the site and links to its most useful pages, so they don't have to guess from navigation menus, scripts and ads.
Where does the llms.txt file go?
At the root of your domain, next to robots.txt — for example https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt. It should be publicly reachable without login and served as plain text.
Is llms.txt the same as robots.txt?
No. robots.txt tells crawlers which paths they may fetch. llms.txt describes what your site is and which pages matter. Most sites benefit from both, and robots.txt should not block the AI crawlers you want to read llms.txt.
Does every AI tool read llms.txt?
llms.txt is an emerging, voluntary convention. Some AI tools and agent frameworks use it and others don't yet, so treat it as one useful signal alongside crawlable HTML, a sitemap and structured data.
